         Sleeping Lion Aiki -Hapkido has many components making it a complete martial arts system - With a focus on the class experience as well as self defense (close range combat, utilizing low kicks, elbows, finger jabs to soft targets, palm strikes, knees, joint locking, and throwing. Ideal for jetliners, elevators, stairwells, alleys, subways, ships and buses. Anywhere that is confined by nature our techniques will work at their best.) There are little or no jumping, hopping, skipping, flying, spinning, cartwheels, flips, bending over backwards or other contorted stances. We simply do not need a lot of room to be effective in combat or to work out in. Our focus is in self defense/safety of our students as well as self improvement for all ages.   
          Visitation is encouraged prior to deciding on enrollment. A suggestion is to visit Martial Art schools in the area before making up your mind. If you need any help in deciding what is best for you, or if you would like to know what to look for in an Martial Art school, feel free to contact me. I will help you in any way that I can in this endeavor. This is an important decision in your life, especially in light of recent terrorist attacks, etc., so do not take it lightly. I recommend a couple of other schools in town if Sleeping Lion isn't right for you. Aikido of Flagstaff is the best Aikido only studio around, as well as the longest established martial arts studio in town.  Mention this website and receive a free week at their studio (Adults only 16 and up) If you are interested inTaoism I can tell you from experience you should check into Water Mountain Martial Arts.  The only other school that is a stand alone self supporting martial arts school as established by the IRS is Maximum Martial Arts.
